Soul Food for the Holidays

BC s' A Soulful Christmas at the Kimo Theater in Albuquerque NM last Thursday night featured Mike Phillips on sax and Tony Maiden on guitar were cooking up some soulful funky jam licking grooves that had everyone in the Theater moving and grooving. BC 's band had a fat sound with nine players consisting of an aux keyboard player with lots of keys, Drummer and bass player kicking it and keeping perfect time, trumpet, tenor sax, alto sax, and bone licking on the chops and on the same page for every tune they played. Tony's daughter complimented the band with her soulful voice. The music and the musicianship has inspired me to work harder and to keep on funking.
